A new course for BPOC women, non-binary and trans people to work through creative block.

What's it all about?

BB ARC continues to serve as a catalyst for long-term artistic development. Building on Julia Cameron’s 1992 ‘The Artist’s Way’ effective methods, the project distils the tried and tested tools, while making it relevant and supportive to the context, challenges and socio-political dynamics BPOC Women, Non-binary and Trans communities face in the world today.

What will you get out of it?

Our goal is to help you create secure and solid roots for you to grow your creative output on. So rather than focussing on producing works we’ll be focussing on creating a safe space within yourself to start producing from. We aim for you to walk away with routines, exercises and personal knowledge that will last you for years to come on your creative journey.

Tailored just for you…

An 8-week artistic development course applying a decolonised interpretation of ‘The Artist’s Way’ for 15 BPOC women, trans and non-binary folk to work through creative block, putting focus on personal/group development, building artistic resilience and self-empowerment.

Who is facilitating this?

There will be four in-person workshop sessions facilitated by Ruby (she/her) and Fa-Zah (they/them) that will be focussed on working through the overall course materials. The other four sessions take place online with trained BPOC therapist Kim Loliya who will guide the group through a deeper check-in with focus on healing, connection to self, the arts and collective creative community.

We meet up once weekly from Thursday 5th of October at 7-9 p.m. (London UK time) for  8 consecutive weeks until Thursday 23rd November 2023

*Please note this is a past event.

Where will it take place?

Four of the sessions will be in-person in Old Street, London and another four will be online via Zoom.

The course fee is £300. This can be paid at once or over instalments. We have also made the option for a sliding scale payment structure based on your individual financial situation. You will be able to opt for this when you apply.
